Axis Ballymun website
Problem:
We can imagine was thrilled to take on the redesign of the Axis Ballymun website! This exciting project involved working meticulously with multiple pages and creating various interactive elements to enhance user engagement. Their previous site had gradually become a bit overwhelming for users, with a complex navigation structure that wasn't quite working effectively for visitors. The layout had grown somewhat cluttered over time, making it challenging for users to find the specific information they were seeking. Additionally, the existing design didn't fully reflect the vibrant, community-focused nature of Axis Ballymun's cultural activities and programmes.
Research:
The research began with a site visit where I was able to speak with key stakeholders to gain an understanding of the inner workings of the Axis Ballymun centre. I took extensive notes and even attended a Christmas pantomime. Following the site visit, detailed questionnaires were sent to the client and key stakeholders to document all the important areas of interaction—not only on the website but also the face-to-face interactions.
Solution:
The final solution addressed all the problems outlined in the creative brief. The website was clean, easy to navigate and housed some of the important back-end processes of the Axis centre. The site was built on Squarespace, which gave the client access to make changes and craft different experiences as they saw fit. Back to Portfolio page.
